A busy time for sports teams

This week has been very busy for our sports teams. It is at the play off stage for some codes and close to the play offs for others, while badminton is just getting under way. Let’s find out how some of our teams got on.

Our Under 15 girls football beat Macleans 4-3 in their top 4 play offs on Wednesday. Goal scorers were Genevieve Churton (2) and Mikayla Killip (2).

The Open grade boys basketball team missed a chance to win their grade with a game in hand after a heavy defeat to Selwyn. They now head into their final playoff game of the season on Monday and must beat Kings at Kings to win the Open A Championship and qualify as the #1 Central/Eastern seed for the Auckland Championships.

Junior A boys basketball continued their excellent season with a 59-19 win over Kings Junior B1. That result lifts them to 2nd on the table with our Junior B team hot on their heels in 3rd place. The undefeated Under 17 boys team made it 10 out of 10 with a win over Edgewater.

Our Year 9 badminton team defeated Elim 6-0 in their opening game of the season. The Badminton A team will be in action on Friday afternoon.
