about us

Sancta Maria College is a co-educational Catholic secondary school.  It was opened in 2004 and the roll has grown steadily to around 1000 students. The school caters for students in Years 7 – 13 (age 11 – 18 years).

Sancta Maria College is an award-winning, architecturally designed campus with beautifully landscaped park-like surrounds.  The school Board is committed to the further development of student facilities in the future.  A new library, new tennis courts and a hockey pitch have recently been completed and a confidence course was added for the Year 7 and 8 students.

The school’s special character, based on Catholic Christian values, is given high priority and is integrated into all aspects of school life.  Sancta Maria College prides itself on its commitment to maintaining high levels of behaviour and respectful relationships.

The school is also committed to academic excellence and students at Sancta Maria College do very well in NCEA. The ERO (Education Review Office) Report in 2012 had the following to say:

“In NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) Year 11 to 13 students achieve well above national averages.”

“The school has maintained high quality teaching practices.”

“The school provides high quality learning environments.”

In choosing Sancta Maria College you will be choosing to educate the whole person in an environment that is welcoming, supportive and safe.
