Junior Sports Assistant

Sancta Maria College is a Year 7-13 State Integrated Catholic Secondary School with 1000 students in Auckland’s Eastern Suburbs. We seek an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who has a passion for sport in schools and is energetic, innovative and professional. The purpose of the role is to provide an effective as well as efficient management and coordination of our sports programme with particular focus on our junior students. Good administration and communication skills are essential for this role. Experience in the school environment would be an advantage but not necessary.
 
Purpose and primary objectives of this position is to provide effective and efficient management and coordination of the college’s sports programme with particular focus of the Year 7&8 levels, leading to:
• Quality, well organised sports programmes that meet the various needs and interest of all students
• Enhancing the profile of sport at the college and within the school community
• Encourage high levels of student participation and achievement in sporting competitions, events and recreational opportunities
• Provide a safe and enjoyable sporting environment for all students
 
The Junior Sports Assistant will effectively manage and coordinate the school’s sports programme by being proficient in these key tasks:
• Programme Coordination
• Administration
• Communication
• Marketing and Promotions
 
This position is 20 hours per week: term time only – extra hours in school holidays negotiated.

Sancta Maria College is a Year 7-13 State Integrated Catholic Secondary School with 1000 students in Auckland’s Eastern Suburbs. We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated and dynamic person who has a passion and interest in young people’s career development to join our dedicated Careers Team. The successful applicant will work closely with our Careers and Gateway Coordinators. You will interact with a wide variety of people including our College students.
 
Purpose and primary objectives:
• Provide effective administration and coordinate career related activities
• Assist with career related enquiries from students, parents and staff
• Liaise with staff and outside employers/providers in regards to career related activities.
• Assist with STAR (Secondary Tertiary Alignment Resource) and other government funded programmes
 
The Position would suit someone who has:
• Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills
• Strong administration and time management skills
• An interest in young people’s career development and pathways
 
This is a Permanent, Part-Time position; 27 hours per week: term time only
 
Good administration and communication skills are essential for this role. Experience in a school environment would be an advantage but not necessary.
