Just why did Santa call in on the students of Sancta Maria College this week? It is because he wants us all to get behind the ‘Cans for Christmas’ collection in support of Mercy Hospice and St Vincent de Paul. Start bringing those cans in this week, right up to the closing date of Friday, September 14.
Santa is encouraging every single one of us to bring in and donate cans of food to provide meals for those who would otherwise have to go without. There are so many families in need and families with loved ones in hospital who are unable to provide for themselves. Santa says, “Let’s get behind this worthy cause.”
All year groups are asked to bring in as many cans as they can. Each homeroom’s aim is to build the highest can tower and the winning homeroom will be rewarded with a delicious pizza lunch. So not only will you be helping Mercy Hospice and St. Vincent De Paul, you may win this very tasty prize for your class.
Remember, you can start donating from today and all cans are due by Friday, September 14.
