Our Concert Band was the last of our three ensembles to perform at the KBB Festival under the expert direction of Mr Arthur.
Our biggest school ensemble, numbering 34 members, performed at the Parnell Cathedral. Their set consisted of ‘Danse Carnivale’ by Randall Standridge, ‘Amen!’ by Frank Ticheli, ‘Down By The Salley Gardens’ (a traditional piece) and ‘Blue Ridge Reel’ by Brian Balmages.
As with our other ensembles, the performance was a strong one and was reflected by the Bronze Award from the judges to go with the Bronze that they won in 2016. Again, we can be very proud of our young players, who have made such great progress under Mr Arthur’s guidance since he took over the running of the Concert Band, last year.
