Deus Tempus Retreat

A new retreat experience has been completed over the Term One holidays by Yr 12 and 13 students.

This voluntary retreat, known as “Deus Tempus”, (Latin for “God’s Time”) is a four day experience of Christian Community for senior students. Students learn more about themselves, their relationships, and their faith.

Our R.E faculty was given this very effective model by St Peter’s College in Epsom, who run three similar retreats each year. As it is a student-run retreat, former prefects from St Peter’s College and St Mary’s College, Pelasio Iaseto-Filo, Gene Paul Kiely, Nierensche Perese-Kuil, and Hayley Gordon, generously stepped in to lead 24 of our students.

These student leaders were expertly supported by four College staff, Mr Cedric Piggin, Mrs Amber Stevens, Mr Omar Tamayo, and Ms Makayla Samaeli. Father Austin Fernandes, Parish Priest at Saint Mark’s Pakuranga, was our Retreat Chaplain.
Students from this first retreat will be selected to run the next Sancta Maria Deus Tempus retreat.

Parents are encouraged to support their sons and daughters who are considering applying to attend the next one, as it is a very Spirit-filled experience for all involved.
