Environment team cleans up

The Sancta Maria College Environment Team organised a Stream Clean Up which turned out to be a great success for both the school and for our environment.

The stream is adjacent to our College off Accent Drive and leads through surrounding bush. Due to the prevailing winds, lots of rubbish blows across our fields to that specific area. So Mrs McCreath and seven volunteers stayed after school to pick as much rubbish as they could to make our school eco-friendly.

The students changed into old clothes and shoes and were provided with gloves and plastic bags. After the clean-up the event finished off with a sausage sizzle as a reward for all the hard work.

We’d like to thank Mrs McCreath and the Environment team for organising this amazing event in cleaning up the school stream. We hope that students will continue to care about the environment and offer to help at next year’s ‘Stream Clean Up’.
