Last week, a few of our Year 12s and 13s defied the popular belief that ‘learning is boring’.
Not only were they able to work alongside and make new friendships with Dilworth students, they were also able to cook delicious food and to learn how to thoroughly clean kitchens as part of their 617 standard, a hygiene course.
Their dishes consisted of scrumptious burgers, fries and minestrone that they were all able to deservingly eat afterwards!
‘It was a lot of fun because we were new people who got to cook in real kitchens and got to use new facilities’, said one of the Year 12 students who thoroughly enjoyed the standard.
However, these skills are not only useful for their assessment, but could also be used in their current life and even in the future. What a very helpful and fun experience these students had!
