For those about to rock . . !

For the third time in just over a week, Sancta Maria headed to the Otara Music and Arts Centre to take part in Stand Up Stand Out.

The bands heat saw us enter four acts: Elvohn featured Van Joseph Belinario, Elena Afamasaga and John Purification; Lokahi comprised of Leuasa Ensink, Lidia Lirato and Grace Sih (who performed their award-winning Caritas song, ‘If Only’); High Voltage (pictured above) lived up to their name by ‘turning it up to eleven’ and shaking the walls with their own composition called ‘Rock and Roll will never die’ before Young Nation (Anna Nguyen, Audrie Mamaradlo, Maris Balili, Patrick De Vera, Daniella Joven and Rico Chan) brought everyone back down to earth with some much more mellow and harmonic tones!

Special credit must go to Anna, Audrie and Maris, who performed in all of our three visits to Stand Up Stand Out as solo singers, as a vocal group (Trinity) and as part of a band (Young Nation). That said, all of our students acquitted themselves extremely well in each category and were a credit to our school.
