Visiting students from Itoshima High School in Japan were welcomed by some of senior students and Year 9s. Arriving at lunch time the Japanese youngsters were giving a tour of the school by their buddies before spending the afternoon with them in the auditorium where they learned about each other’s language and culture.
The students from Itoshima High School will spend time on a Marae as well as experiencing activities such as horse riding before returning to Sancta Maria College next week.
When they return they will spend next Tuesday taking part in sports activities and on Wednesday they will experience the New Zealand education system as they follow their buddy around their various classes.
