By beginning with a grand welcome from the school’s Kapa Haka group and later becoming an audience to spectacular musical pieces by the school choir, Feast Day mass was filled with melodic songs and numerous skilled performances. However, what made Feast Day Mass so exceptional was the large group of students and teachers who were Baptised, Confirmed or received their first Holy Communion.

On Friday 1 June, the group, I Am Unbreakable, came to talk to the students. The message was clear: to create awareness about depression and anxiety and how we can get help. The I Am Unbreakable tour goes around schools in New Zealand spreading this message.

We are now less than one week away before the curtains open for Sancta Maria College’s production “Grease” and the school population is buzzing with excitement, especially after a sneak peek of “Summer Nights,” one of the show’s musical numbers.” I think it’s safe to say that “Summer Nights” stuck in everyone’s heads for quite some time. So let’s have a closer look at two of the young actors who will take to the stage to perform for us.
