New Zealand Schools Japanese Trivia Championship – Success!

2016 was the second year of the New Zealand Schools Japanese Trivia Championships competition. This joint initiative between NZAJLT (New Zealand Association of Japanese Language Teachers) and JSANZ (Japanese Studies Aotearoa New Zealand) attracted 87 teams from seven regions (Auckland, Waikato, Manawatu, Wellington, Nelson, Otago and Southland).

Sancta Maria College fielded two teams. We are very proud of the teams as they have done extremely well regionally and nationally. Our special congratulations to Sancta Maria College Team 2 for gaining second place in the Auckland Region and third nationally.

It was a fun-filled night as many students and teachers also took the opportunity to dress up for this special occasion. Venues were filled with participants dressed in a variety of outfits such as yukata, cosplay, martial arts, or as ninja and samurai warriors, all adding to the colourful spectacle.
