Our Big Band wins Silver at the KBB Festival

Mr Cho led Sancta Maria College’s Big Band in to this year’s KBB Festival with an augmented line up compared with last year and the quantity was backed up with quality.

The set comprised of St Thomas by Sonny Rollins, Work Song by Nat Adderley, Jazz Police by Gordon Goodwin, But Not For Me by George Gershwin (which featured Helen Pahulu on vocals) and Groove Pavement Ahead by Brad Ciechomsk.

Francis Lee on trombone, Jason Crombach on guitar and Peter Brzozowski on trumpet all shone as soloists and the judges awarded the Big Band for their efforts with a Silver Award (to add to the Silver that they won at last year’s event).

We can be very proud of our Big Band, who have gone from strength to strength under Mr Cho’s fine guidance.
