Purple Cupcake Day

“Kids helping kids through celebration, education and fundraising” was what we aimed to accomplish when organising this event. Purple cupcake day is a chance for students to learn about generosity and compassion. It’s a day when we recognise the unfortunate and the needy who are in serious need of our help.

On March 22, we held Purple Cupcake Day, a charity event that was dedicated to aid needy and homeless children across Haiti, Nepal and Kenya. A large number of students from different year groups baked delicious purple cupcakes that we put on sale at lunchtime. The more than $500 we raised went to provide children with an education that can hopefully help them break free from the cycle of poverty that they are trapped in. We hoped to raise awareness of what is happening on the other side of the world. Children in many parts of the world do not have the opportunity to gain an education and find it hard to build themselves a future. This event is held annually to raise much needed funds for this cause.
