Return to Tokyo

Returning to Tokyo the group took some time out to catch up on their Study Tour tasks. We went to Akihabara (sometimes referred to as “Electric Town”) in the late afternoon staying until night as the brightly glowing lights of a multitude of shop signs along straight streets makes a spectacular view.

Rina, an ex-Sancta Maria College student, joined us for the fun evening. We took the opportunity to pose at a subway station for a photo.

The Ginza subway is the oldest line on the Tokyo system, dating to 1927. On our journey we travelled on a specially made retro subway carriage built to the design of the original trains that covered this route. They boast a beautifully constructed wooden interior with modern gadgets fitted in.
