Standing Hand in Hand for the Children of South Sudan

40-hour famine is coming up and this year it is our job to unite as one to help the children in South Sudan.
At last Tuesday’s assembly, guest speaker Robbie Baker came to talk to us about South Sudan and about the 40-hour famine coming up next month.

Thousands of children have been exposed to danger and are filled with terror causing them to flee their homes, carrying off nothing but themselves and their families, to find a place where they can be far away from destruction. In South Sudan, thousands of refugees and young children are suffering and need our help.

Robbie showed us, in assembly, the video of 14 year old Viktor and his journey to Sudan and how World Vision has helped him, his brothers and sisters and the rest of the children under the care of World Vision. 61% of South Sudanese refugees in Uganda are children and we can help them by participating in the 40-hour famine happening next month. Every cent counts as the money raised will go towards creating child friendly spaces and providing shelter, food and water for the children.
This Thursday, May 24, we will be having a bake sale to support World Vision and sign up for the 40-hour famine is now open to all year groups in CU1.
