The Sound of Music a stunning success

The hills were alive in Sancta Maria College’s best production yet. Performing at the Vodafone Events Centre with two matinees and three evening performances, the hard work of the talented cast, orchestra, backstage crew, technicians and staff created a sparkling and entertaining show. Together, these dedicated and talented performers climbed every mountain to reach the heights of success. The performances by Michaela Ralph-Smith (Maria), Neil Kulkarni (Captain Von Trapp), Anneliese Simpson (Mother Abbess), the Von Trapp Children, other lead casts and the ensemble cast, surely puts the Do Re Mi into a sure fire stunning production.

All good things must come to an end and as the final bows and thanks were given, we sweetly sang, “so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!”

The school production of the Sound of Music has received positive responses from the community. The comments below are just a few of the many received:

“We didn’t realise you hired actual nuns! The production is simply stunning”
“The best school production that Sancta Maria College has ever put on”
“I have to say it was all amazing, I can’t believe it was a school production. It was so professional.”
“The show was amazing, still buzzing the day after with all the songs stuck in my head!”

The school production, gave the students of the cast and orchestra a remarkable experience that will live with them forever. A huge cheer for Mrs. Oliver for being the best director. To Mr. Gibbs, Mrs. Monaghan, Mr. Naicker, Sarala Niven and to the many staff who worked tirelessly to put on the best production ever, thank you.
