The boys came back from 1-0 down to draw level, 1-1 in the last 5 minutes.
An excellent result for their first game, especially as a number of the boys had not played a competitive match before and certainly had never been on a full size hockey pitch.
At the beginning they struggled with where and how to play positionally, but with some substitutions and quick explanations they improved considerably, as did their tenacity and determination, which were major points in their response to going a goal down. Effort will equal results …the more the team put in the more they got out of the game.
The equalizing goal was no less than their fighting spirit and improved second half performance deserved.
