It was another glorious day for rugby on Saturday as our 1st XV had their first away game at Sacred Heart College. Unfortunately, the score line favoured Sacred Heart 53-22 at full time. We let in a few early tries at the start of the game but at the break the boys regrouped and scored 3 very good tries in the second half.
Our forward pack had parity throughout the game and were particularly dominant at scrum time. The team didn’t give up and impressed the coaches and supporters with their resilience until the final whistle.
Player of the day was Vettori Foster who played large minutes due to a few injuries where players couldn’t return to the field. The coaching group have identified areas we need to work on at training so the boys are better prepared for our next challenge against Tangaroa College on June 8.
