In honour of National Health and PE Day, Sancta Maria College ran a school-wide jump jam in place of homeroom. The twenty-minute session featured a Les Mills ‘Born to Move’ video and jump jams from the primary school. It finished with a surge of energy as the students performed to Coconut and Witch Doctor. It was a trip down memory lane for many. The revitalised students went on with their days knowing they have improved their overall hauroa.
The goal of this nationwide initiative is to highlight the importance of health and physical education and its influence on the learning and development of children. It is the hope that this day encourages more physical activity amongst students who get caught up with their sedentary lives.
