Friday 4th of June brought along the much-anticipated Year 12 Leisure and Recreation Day. This is a part of the Level 2 Social Responsibility standard, where students are assessed on their levels of leadership, participation, and self-direction.
Students were split up into PE classes and rotated between three exciting activities throughout the day, consisting of Ice Skating, Bowling, and Gravity Trampoline Park.
Despite the different skill levels of students at each activity, many were challenged by at least one aspect of an activity. Students faced obstacles like learning how to skate without the aid of a metal frame or trying to nail a backflip on the trampolines. Their determination and perseverance, along with the support and encouragement from their peers, allowed for drastic improvements by the end of their sessions.
A huge thank you to the teachers who organised the activities as well as the teachers who supervised us throughout the day. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Paradice Ice Skating, Timezone Bowling, and Gravity Trampoline Park for allowing us to visit and enjoy the activities.
