Four of our Sancta Maria Young Vinnies leaders took part in an enlightening weekend away at Motu Moana Camp, designed to build leadership skills and make lasting memories. The theme for the 2022 AVSSC Vinnies Leadership Camp was based on a quote from John 6:20, ‘Be not afraid’.
Over the two days, they connected with leaders from 13 other schools (within the North Island) Vinnies Youth groups, in trust-based activities, engaging sessions, debriefs and Mass – all revolving around the theme for this year (Be not afraid).
In assigned groups, all the leaders learnt to support one another through team building and ABL (Adventure Based Learning) activities, understand more about the purpose/founders of The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul and explored Praise through Song as one united choir.
Overall, our 4 lucky students were able to bond and build relationships with new people and learn more about themselves and how to become effective leaders and be children of God.
