Two of our young musicians offered their services in the community for the Otara Waterways Trust. Symphonia violinist Yena Wang and Concert Band clarinettist Patrick Malden both played some solo pieces for the volunteers who were planting new trees in our Flat Bush locale. It is said that plants respond to music, so let us hope that those new trees got the best possible start courtesy of our young player’s tunes. Both Yena and Patrick were rewarded for their efforts with a free sausage sizzle, so they truly did ‘sing for their supper’!
We hope to take more of our players to such events in the future.
