Year 7s learn about fossils

Jacob Fischer and Liam Donnellan

Paleontologist teachers from the Auckland Museum’s education team came to our school where they taught the Year 7s about paleontology.  The students first had to understand what Paleontology was, which was cleverly portrayed to them by the team.

The team provided the Year 7s with an informative talk, interactive questions, and engaging artifacts for observation and kinesthetic learning. Items that the paleologists showed our Year 7s consisted of; a three-million-year-old oyster, various parts of a stegosaurus and even fossilised dinosaur poo!
