You won’t want to miss the College Music Concert on the evening of Friday, 12 August in the auditorium. Featuring the concert orchestra, concert band, jazz band and choir there will be something for everyone. At only $5 for adults and $2 for children it is not to be missed. Read on to find out about one of our talented musicians, Vincent Brzozowski.
The coming two weeks will be very busy for one of Sancta Maria College’s key musicians. Vincent Brzozowski will be applying his talents as our principal trumpet player to not just the Orchestra, but also the Jazz Band and Concert Band.
By the end of the month, Vincent will have performed with the Orchestra at Mission Heights Primary School, as well as in two warm up concerts here at the College. The second show will be on Friday, the 12 August, at 7pm in our Auditorium and will be the last concert before we embark on our programme of performances at the KBB Festival.
The Orchestra will play some pieces from their recent successful production of The Sound of Music, whilst also playing two pieces that were chosen specifically to feature Vincent as a soloist: Charpentier’s ‘Te Deum’ and Faure’s ‘Pie Jesu’.
After the Orchestra’s KBB performance on the 16th, Vincent will return to the Festival on the 19th to play with both the Jazz Band and with the Concert Band (but for the latter he will be playing the euphonium).
If that is not enough, the rest of the year will see Vincent completing his musical studies and working on a scholarship that will focus on his piano playing.
