The second week of Term 2 kickstarts with selected students in Year 12 and 13 attending a Workplace Health and Safety Course.
Its primary purpose is to identify hazards in the workplace which could cause injury to self and others, and learn how to minimise and eliminate them.
They all learned the protocols and measurements of a safe working environment – what to wear, what to do, as well as the grave dangers of not following these guidelines!
It opened up a whole new perspective for these seniors to know how a balanced framework secures the health and safety of workers.
Rest assured that Sancta Maria College will continue to be a safe environment thanks to these responsible young people.
A big thank you to Julie Weatherall who shared her knowledge and wisdom on this topic to keep not only our school safe, but the rest of New Zealand.
