As part of a new initiative creating community between Sancta Maria College and our friends at the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, the Year 12s have the opportunity to go across to visit New Zealand’s largest Buddhist temple throughout Term 2, 2017.
The purpose of this visit will be to incorporate the Religious Education curriculum which looks at the different sacramental initiation ceremonies of the Catholic and the Buddhist faith tradition and how both the Eastern and Western religions have significant religious rituals which illustrate their different faith beliefs.
There will be follow up work completed in class to help the students make sense of their learning and we encourage any feedback you may have at the end of the visit from both yourselves and your child.
