After 3 weeks of well-deserved rest the Premier girls were back to their normal routine.
Although they were privileged to get an extra hour’s rest, with their morning game starting at 11:30, the girls came out with an unfortunate result.
After a promising end to the first quarter, the team were leading against MAGS Premier 2. An ill-fated second quarter saw the girls trailing and they were unable to pick it up in the third quarter. Despite the lead that MAGS had gained, the SMC Premier team did not lose hope. Although winning the last quarter, the lead was too great to come back with a win.
With less than an hour to go before they moved on to play their next game and just coming back from an extended break the girls found it hard to adjust to their new timetable. Leading for the majority of the game the players tried to keep up the momentum to the end.
With injuries creating a bit of caution and concern amongst the team, they tried not to let this get in the way. However, with Mellons Bay gaining a run on the girls in the last quarter, they were battling neck and neck in the final minutes of the game. With the sound of the hooter, all players on the court were exhausted.
Ending the day with a draw, the Premier team can definitely say that there will hopefully be better days to come.
