Bears and Prayers

This coming Friday at lunchtime students and staff are encouraged to bring their teddy bears as we hold a ‘Bears and Prayers’ session in support of students in the United States affected by gun violence. This will involve students participating in uplifting prayers and Christian music in the courtyard.

The following day American students are participating in a rally called “March For Our Lives.” This has been created by students across the United States who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings.

Following the most recent shooting in Florida, Catholic leaders have called for prayers and action against the use of weapons. We feel that since we are a special character school we can assist through prayer. This will show our solidarity with the youth of America in this Year of the Youth. We feel it will also encourage our students to show a greater awareness of the issues that affect the youth in our global community.
