Year 11 student, Clive Luna has been named as a finalist for the College Sport Auckland Young Sportsperson of the Year (YSPOTY) Awards. He is one of three students selected from all male secondary school badminton players. This is a massive achievement for anyone but it’s even more significant considering he’s only 15 years old.
Past winners of the overall sportsman and sportswoman of the year have become some of New Zealand’s most recognisable sporting names, including Jonah Lomu, Beatrice Faumuina, Sarah Ulmer, Lydia Ko, Eliza McCartney, Jacko Gill and many more. The Awards Evening is being held at Eden Park on Thursday 22 November.
