Homestay Co-Ordinator (International Department)
Part time (20 hours a week), secondary school term time only, fixed term position.
Starting Term 1, 2026
We are seeking a proactive, highly organised, and detail-focused Homestay Co-Ordinator to join our International Department. This is a term-time role, with some additional weeks required during peak periods.
This is a vital position supporting our international students and their host families. You will play a key role in ensuring students are placed in safe, caring, and supportive homestay environments, while maintaining compliance with all relevant Codes of Practice, school policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support homestay placements for international students
- Maintain clear and effective communication between students, host families, agents, and school staff
- Monitor student wellbeing and homestay suitability
- Ensure compliance with the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice and school policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support a positive and seamless homestay experience for all involved
Skills and Experience
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding written and verbal English
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and database systems (eSchool experience is advantageous; training will be provided)
- Strong empathy and understanding of young people from diverse cultural backgrounds
- High level of efficiency and attention to detail
- A proactive, solution-focused, friendly attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Additional Requirements:
- New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa
- Clean full driver’s licence
- Police vetting clearance (required for working with young people)
- Commencement January 2026, date negotiable the duration of the fixed term will be determined by the number of students requiring accommodation.
