Even though 2020 has been a challenging and eventful year, Sancta Maria College was still able to send two teams to compete in the annual Kids’ Lit Quiz competition. Each team consisted of four Year 7 and 8 students that were passionate about reading and books.
Kids’ Lit Quiz is a worldwide competition about literature and well-known books. Each town or region has its own competition to decide who will go into the Nationals final. And the winners of each National final will get to compete in the International final.
Our teams competed in the Auckland competition that was held at St Cuthbert’s school on the 16th October.
There were 100 questions evenly spread out into ten rounds, each based on a specific topic. We didn’t get to place in the top three this time, but all together it was a valuable and fun experience.
Thanks to the help provided from Mrs. O’Rorke and her fellow Librarians we were able to train hard before the competition and ended up having a fun and enjoyable day.
