Howick Youth Council’s Youth Visual Art Showcase awards evening was held on Friday 13 September 2024 with eleven of our Art students work being judged in the competition. Entries were of a very high calibre and encompassed works of painting, sculpture, animation, photography, or mixed media from across East Auckland Secondary Schools.
The Art Department is proud to announce that we took away TWO awards and ONE nomination.
- Aaron Diaz won the top prize for Digital Art, submitting a pixel art painting
- Piper Hurren won the top prize for Sculpture, submitting her large flower sculpture
- Jessica Dryer was nominated for top prize in Photography but sadly missed out.
The exhibit runs until Friday 5 October 2024 at the Malcolm Smith Gallery, Uxbridge Centre, Howick. There is still opportunity to vote for people’s choice, so please go and have a look and support our artists.
