A group of students from Sancta Maria College travelled to Marcellin College in order to participate in the annual Pompallier Shield Competition.

Last Friday eight students from the 40-hour Famine Committee joined the 40-hour famine walk led by Mrs Cummings. This was a 7.44km walk up Point View Drive.

As the bell rang signaling the start of homeroom, the students of SMC were dashing around the school grounds with their mufti clothes showing their support for the Syrian refugees.

Tables overflowing with smooth, soft and creamy confections were soon crowded by swarming students and teachers who rushed to examine the aromatic goods in C Block courtyard.

As part of a new initiative creating community between Sancta Maria College and our friends at the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple, the Year 12s have the opportunity to go across to visit New Zealand’s largest Buddhist temple throughout Term 2, 2017.

As part of their curriculum the Year 12 and 13 Geography students headed to Rotorua to discover what attracts tourists to the famous “RotoVegas’.

From being on the run from police dogs and helicopters in freezing cold conditions with a tin of beef to share between five to the quiet room of Sancta Maria College’s library, Deputy Chief of the New Zealand Army Chris Parsons has journeyed to every corner of the world, with his travels finally bringing him to our College to talk to our student leaders and aspiring army men and women.

Last Friday the Year 12 students attended the ‘Loves me not’ programme run by the New Zealand Police.
