On Friday, a team of 7 gymnasts went to Howick Gym to compete in the SEZ gymnastics. The Year 7 and 8s have been training since term 2. They did three apparatus: floor, beam and vault.

A team of excited and committed Year 7-8 boys played in the open grade rugby tournament in the past week at the Pakuranga Rugby Club. They played 6 games, facing Ferguson Intermediate, Pakuranga Intermediate and Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate.

Many of our school basketball teams remain undefeated as the season continues while other teams just fell short of getting the win. Some of the teams that gained wins defeated their opponents by more than 50 points which shows the teams’ chemistry, teamwork and passion for winning.

Our clarinet quintet, Sancta Cinq, represented the school at Auckland heat of the prestigious NZCT Chamber Music Contest which was held at Epsom Girls’ Grammar School. The judges enjoyed Sancta Cinq’s lively delivery and praised their togetherness.

Our students who have been taking Food and Hospitality have had a focus on food safety in the first two terms of this year. In particular, they have been studying how hygiene practices can prevent food-borne illnesses and what correct food handling procedures must be followed to ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are safe from micro-organisms.
