The environment is indeed in danger, with our native bush and fish species being threatened. Well, the Year 7s of 2019 decided to contribute and help save Mother Earth by dressing in their planting gear and going out to plant some trees.

Nine huge wins this week, all by more than twenty points is a remarkable result for the school’s Basketball Club. There was an average of 63.8 points scored per game across all the winning teams which just shows the offensive talent that the players showcased and their ability to put up staggering numbers.

Many students and teachers from SMC collected and removed moth plants and contributed to help saving our native species. Sancta Maria College came in 6th place and won $100 for our effort, finding moth plants for the competition.

Friday became the day of pink galore. Throughout the week, the classes of Sancta Maria College had been gearing up for this final day of the week. Each year level had spent these last few days coordinating their events and activities concerning bullying free. In particular, decorating classrooms with pink banners, pink balloons, pink confetti, pink pom poms – anything pink to show their support for a Bullying Free NZ. When Friday came, students and staff alike banded together to join the movement to stop bullying and spread aroha and kindness.
