Another great evening for our students as they showed off their musical talents on Thursday night. The concert was the first of three fund-raising concerts, aimed at purchasing a grand piano for the new St Luke’s Church once it is constructed.

Sancta Maria College offers 2 different programmes for our senior students to prepare them more practically for their life after high school. These come in the form of World of Work and Gateway. This week, the students involved in these programmes had a focus on Safety in Action.
Members of our Chamber Orchestra, Light Orchestra, Primo Ensemble, Junior and Senior Choirs visited the Town Hall to hear the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra on Wednesday, May 1. The concert was supported by the Potter Masonic Trust.

Our music students were again lucky enough to have some mentoring from a member of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. This time, cellist Callum Hall was on hand to give some special coaching to two of our Festival Orchestra cellists, Francesca Malveda and Emily Raukura, who are gearing up for a big performance at our upcoming Join Together Festival, which will be a grand joint affair between ourselves, Mission Heights Primary School and Point View School.

On Wednesday the Under 15 Boys football team had a friendly game against Papatoetoe High. Despite being down by two goals at half-time, Sancta Maria managed to score three goals in the second half to secure the game.
