Last Wednesday and Thursday, Year 13 PE Studies students participated in two different activities: Just Dance and Hot Yoga. What is this all about? Read on to find out.

The 2nd Annual Sancta Maria College Jazz Night is on its way! Join us in the College staff room on Friday, September 20 at 7pm (entry at 6:30pm) for a night of Jazz, food and drinks, board games and good company. This year, our concert will be featuring the Jazz and Blues Club Finalist “Midnight Quartet”, gold-award winning combo “The Octatonics”, KBB Gala Invitee and Jazz and Blues Club Finalist “SMC Big Band”, and many more of the College’s student Jazz ensembles. So come along and support our young musicians!

A good week so far for our 1st XI hockey girls who are through to the quarter final after winning their three pool games and our Junior basketballers who secured a top ten finish.

After a first up loss on Day 2 of the UNISS tournament our premier netballers bounced back to win their second game 33-18.

Year 12 student, Tristan Tualagi is a talented rugby league player but despite all his achievements, there’s one thing that remains as one of his big goals to fulfil. And that’s to buy a house for his parents and give back to them for their love and support through everything he does.

It was an intense season for our Year 9-13 SMC Basketball teams this year. Teams played games on Tuesdays and Thursdays over the past term, doing their best and developing teamwork. With the regular season finished and tournament week coming up, here is the final placings for our school basketball teams who played in the

Sancta Maria’s premier UNISS netball team (Sophia Ibbetson, Ashleigh Swainbank, Tahlisa Stevens, Holly Maunsell-Young, Sina Maunsell-Young, Gemma Holt, Mia Gilchrist, Jorey Matulino, Shawna Stowers, Aerin Henry, Sarah Wallen, and Hannah Ralph-Smith), coached by Kathryn Stonehouse and managed by Robyn Wallen arrived on the North Shore for their tournament.

From August 31 to September 13, 150+ Sancta Maria College students will compete in 12 different sports codes in various tournaments throughout the North Island. This is one of the largest collections of sporting talent that our school has been able to form and it’s a terrific reflection of the hard work and dedication that our students, staff, teachers, parents and community have shown over the last few seasons.

Saturday August 31 concluded the netball season for College teams. All girls have thoroughly enjoyed the season, with there being talk of planning summer netball teams too! Congratulations to the following teams for placing in their grades:

Ranging from plates for your laces, to plants and bubble tea, Sancta Maria College was a busy venue as the College hosted the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Night Market in the Auditorium. There were over 50 business groups from more than 20 different schools that participated in this event. Beginning at 5pm and finishing at 7pm, there were many products on sale to the local community.
