A million thanks for your help in getting behind “Cans for Christmas’. Through the generosity of families and students we have collected 1182 cans.

A group of Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 mathematicians from Sancta Maria College participated in the inter-school Mathex competition. We had all spent extra time preparing for the event during lunch times and after school. 

Sancta Maria College had 3 swimmers represent the school at the 2017 Anchor Aims Games Swimming. Competing against 314 swimmers from 128 schools Quintin Wong (Yr7), Trelise Dance (Yr8) and Aaron Spencer (Yr8) swum exceptional races to qualify for finals, medals and break records.

On Sunday 17 September, 10 GNS is fundraising for the SPCA by having a bake sale at Bunnings, Botany on Ti Rakau drive. There will be cupcakes, cakes, cookies and many more sweet items.

A group of twelve Year 7 to 11 students made their second visit to the residents of Summerset by the Park rest home.

Sancta Maria College had the privilege of hosting two FDNY (Fire Department City of New York) Chiefs who gave a powerful presentation to a group of Year 13 students about their experiences when working as a part of the emergency response team in New York during the 9/11 operation.

Year 9 and 10 Students had the chance to compete at the annual South Eastern Auckland Junior French Speech Competition at Auckland Normal Intermediate in Remeura.

Bust out your crafty skills and creative spirit because on Thursday late starts, the library holds its fun Pop-up Makers Space for students.

The KBB Music Festival’s evening awards ceremony for Big Bands and Symphony Orchestras was attended by Big Band leader Mr Cho. The Big Band’s marvellous performance earned them a Silver Award from the judges and vocalist and trombonist Helen Pahulu and fellow trombonist Francis Lee are pictured above after receiving the award.

The Boys Under 15 football team have just finished a very successful season. This is the first time these boys have played together but their skills were very quickly on show.
