Wednesday was a special day for the Year 7s as their peer support leaders came in to their home room for the first time!

Our very own Tanya Murray has just achieved an extremely impressive feat, gaining the ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ award at the Counties Manukau Sports Awards Ceremony.

Now a firm favourite among younger students, Sancta Maria College’s Peer Support Programme was first introduced into the school system as a way to battle the negative side-effects of peer-pressure and encourage a stronger support network among pupils.

Anna Faulkner, Tanya Murray and Erica Lim (pictured left to right) will be taking part in the Auckland Secondary Schools Championships after winning their events in the Counties Manukau event.

Year 7 and 8 South Eastern Zone tennis at Somerville took place on a cloudy dull day that turned quickly to rain, cancelling games and finals.

A group of nineteen students from Year 11 and 12 headed across to Ambury Regional Park for the afternoon. All of the students are international students, and the goal of the trip was to prepare for an upcoming English Language writing assessment.

The Junior debating team were successful as they argued their way to victory.

The PE Studies students had an amazing time at Tawharanui for a camp that will be remembered for a long time.
