From August 31 to September 13, 150+ Sancta Maria College students will compete in 12 different sports codes in various tournaments throughout the North Island. This is one of the largest collections of sporting talent that our school has been able to form and it’s a terrific reflection of the hard work and dedication that our students, staff, teachers, parents and community have shown over the last few seasons.

Sancta Maria College’s Annual Night Market

Ranging from plates for your laces, to plants and bubble tea, Sancta Maria College was a busy venue as the College hosted the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Night Market in the Auditorium. There were over 50 business groups from more than 20 different schools that participated in this event. Beginning at 5pm and finishing at 7pm, there were many products on sale to the local community.

Warm Mufti Day

Friday was Warm Mufti Day. We have been monitoring and recording the amount of electricity used at school. Our heaters and lights were turned off for the day to conserve power. The amount of electricity saved compared to a normal school day will be calculated.

Language Competition Update

We thought you might like to have an update on how our students are faring in the Education Perfect Language World Champs taking place this week. As from today we are 4th overall out of 339 schools in New Zealand and our students have picked up the following certificates, with more to come: 4 Emerald, 12 Gold, 9 Silver, 17 Bronze and 29 Credit certificates. This represents a lot of hard work and we are delighted with their achievements to date.
