Chamber Orchestra and the Big Band perform at Uxbridge Centre

The members of the Chamber Orchestra and Big Band had a chance to perform at the Uxbridge Centre in Howick on Friday, June 30.

These two groups had spent much time practicing to hit the right notes. The Orchestra had practiced every Friday morning and the Big Band every Wednesday morning.

The music teachers believed they were now good enough to play in front of an audience. The students left school at 12 noon with all the equipment needed and drove to Uxbridge Centre where lots of people were already queuing to see the performance.

The Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Mr Gibbs, performed Hedwig’s Theme, Yesterday, Summertime, Chariots of Fire, and The Planets.

As for the Big Band, they performed St. Thomas, The Jazz Police, But Not for Me, Work Song and Grooved Pavement. They were conducted by Mr Cho.

The purpose of these two groups performing was to boost their confidence for when they will be playing in the KBB music competition in Term 3.
