Earlier this month, Year 11 student – Jade Faulkner and Year 12 students Anna Faulkner and Ellen Fromont got the opportunity to run through the muddy tracks of the Barry Curtis Park just opposite our school.
They participated in the Auckland Secondary School Cross Country Championship and put in a tremendous effort. It was very convenient having it at Barry Curtis as the girls just had to walk across.
From here Anna qualified to compete at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships and did extremely well. She was placed highly and did very well considering her age. She is a part of the senior group that runs and is at the youngest stage of senior level, so she still has another 2 years to train and improve, and we know that she can only go up from here.
