Sancta Maria College is seeking an expert Deputy Principal to join our outstanding kura. We are a high performing school of excellence, with strong Catholic values being the cornerstone of our future-focused Sancta Maria College Purpose Curriculum.
We are seeking a relational person of integrity who will bring innovation, commitment and enthusiasm to our collaborative team. The successful candidate will have significant middle or senior leadership experience, including successfully managing change.
They will demonstrate the ability to connect with ākonga, staff, whānau and community, have excellent knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy, and have experience in growing the leadership of others.
The specific responsibilities of the portfolio will be negotiated and will depend on the strengths of the successful candidate. Experience in development and delivery of Junior Curriculum will be an advantage, as will knowledge and/or experience in one or more of:
- Digital innovation
- Cultural responsiveness
- Extension and enrichment
- Hauora/Wellbeing (staff/student)
- Pedagogy
- Pastoral care
- Curriculum design

Sports Co-ordinator
Permanent, Full-Time position: 40 hours per week which includes out of school hours as required.
Commencement date: 28 January 2025.
Purpose and primary objectives
To provide effective and efficient management and coordination of the college’s Year 7-13 sports programme, leading to:
- Quality, well organised sports programmes that meet the various needs and interest of all students
- Enhancing the profile of sport at the college and within the school community
- Encourage high levels of student participation and excellence in sporting competitions, events and recreational opportunities
- Provide a safe and enjoyable sporting environment for all students
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Passion for building positive relationships
- The ability to develop, implement and coordinate programmes and events
- Knowledge and experience of a variety of sports codes
- Commitment to the holistic development of young people
- Strong organisational, problem solving and communication skills
Experience in the secondary school sports environment is an advantage. Candidates will be shortlisted and invited for interviews soon after the closing date.
