There were no bins in the courtyard as on a usual school day. This was to challenge and encourage students to become more responsible for the waste they create and then take it home instead of leaving it in bins at school.
The removal of the bins made us think about the amount of waste sent to landfill every day and how much of this is unnecessary wrapping of everyday products. It also helps identify how much of our waste is plastic, a major threat to wildlife and the environment.
