This year’s annual feast day was a most memorable one. For the 20th year anniversary, our most special Mass was held at St Patrick’s Cathedral, presided by Bishop Stephen Lowe. It was a fantastic and momentous occasion, especially as it had been 10 years since our last visit to the Cathedral.
This event, held on 31 May 2024, was a significant moment in our school calendar. It celebrates the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary – the patron saint of our school. It commemorates the meeting between Mary and her cousin Elizabeth.
The morning of the day went smoothly. With over 20 buses and 1000 staff and students, all arrived safely and successfully in the city. The weather was great – the sunny, bright clear skies were symbolic of the special day.
We were all very honoured and grateful for Bishop Steven Lowe to celebrate this event with us as we took much insight from his homilies and words. We also witnessed the commissioning and blessing of our new Lectors and Ministers of the Eucharist.
The rest of the day was spent with our houses, where fun games and recreational activities were held. It was a great way to end our special character week. A big thank you to all those staff and students involved in making this day possible.
