It’s all about the birds

Connecting with nature is one of the best things we can do to help improve wellbeing and mood – combine this with pausing and taking a moment to notice what surrounds you, particularly birdlife, and you have a recipe for success.  The school enjoyed a presentation in assembly on Tuesday, 27 June on how we can help record birdlife in our very own backyard.  We have been encouraged to record all the birdlife we see in our backyards – simply take the time to sit, enjoy and record the birds you see and hear.  Click the following link to record your findings Bird Tally Sheet – full details on how to record the birds you see are included on this sheet.  Note: there is an official week next year that your sightings are recorded.

In addition, there is also a fabulous app that is free and allows everyone to identify and record birds you have seen and heard – simply use Merlin Bird ID – instant bird identification help and guide for thousands of birds – Identify the birds you see (allaboutbirds.org) by clicking this link.

Enjoy your moments of peace and connections with nature.
