The Junior Star of the week is Marielle Venida. After breaking 2 records (one of which had stood for 8 years) at athletics day, she went on to represent the school at the Counties Manukau competition, where she became the champion in Junior Girls 100 and 200m.
Just last week, Marielle attended the Auckland Athletics Championships, and achieved 1st place in the Junior Girls 100 metres and 2nd place in the 200m, with times of 12.50 and 25.86 seconds. Marcelle will now represent Counties in the North Island Secondary School Athletics Championships.
