Library Week packs a punch!

From 5-9 August 2024 our Library transformed into the hustle and bustle of what can only be likened to Victoria Street Station, London.  There were students ‘escaping’, building, quizzing, reading and learning!

The Mystery of the Golden Pen kicked off on Monday and continued throughout the week – students had to solve clues around the library to discover who had stolen the Golden Pen, how they had stolen it and how they came to their conclusion.

Tuesday saw a Science Fiction Themed Makerspace available to students, where they made some seriously creative Sci-Fi creatures made from crafty bits and bobs, Lego and Knex.

Wednesday was a little more competitive – students teamed off against each other to complete a Fantasy themed Kahoot quiz.

On Thursday there were several students ‘locked’ in the quiet room of the library and they had to solve literacy and numeracy clues to ‘escape the library’.

We ended Friday with a ‘Blind Date with a Book’ where students had the opportunity to loan a gift-wrapped book of an unknown genre to experience something new.

Library Week was a fun week of activities – it aimed to highlight the wonder and rich tapestry of our school library.  Thank you to all the wonderful library staff who managed the week for our students to enjoy.
