Weeks of preparation led up to Wednesday 3 July 2024 – the biggest market day in Sancta Maria College’s history! The Year 13 Business (13BUS) and Year 10 Commerce (10COM) classes ornamented the C-Block courtyard with eye-catching stalls during lunch, displaying several unique products and services they worked tirelessly to produce. These students implemented their knowledge from lessons regarding economics during term 2 to plan, design, develop, market, and execute their products during the Market Day.
The lunchtime bell rang, signalling the beginning of market day, and seas of students flocked to view the numerous stalls, with products ranging from food, accessories, and clothing. Excitement and music resounded in the air as people purchased their items. Chloe Vital from 10COM “found market day enjoyable. It was nice to work alongside my friends and learn how to create and sell products. Our keychains sold out almost immediately, and we made plenty of profit. My group and I had a fun time buying from other stalls too! It was memorable.”
Market Day allowed our students to experience organising their businesses and provided an insight into the world of economics; their efforts were fruitful as stalls accumulated their well-earned profits! A massive thank you to Ms Whiteford, Ms Du Burgess, 13BUS, and 10COM classes for making this day such a success as we were certainly treated to a number of wonderful products.
